IMperfect Mirrors is a series of sculptural mirrors handcrafted from stone fragments recovered from quarries and workshops and left in their original form, exactly as they were found: offcuts discarded for their irregularity and destined to be ground into powder for construction. These are ancient materials, formed over geological timescales that exceed any human measure, yet often considered “defects” simply because they do not fit a conventional idea of shape. In these mirrors, the stone is not altered but acknowledged. Each base preserves its natural identity, and the mirror simply accompanies it, turning the presence of the material into an invitation to reflect on value — our own and that of everything around us.
