Riquiqui Montaigne no. 1 is a marble sculptural vase, a fragment of the Western Italian Alps. A play of inverted proportions: the mountain becomes small, as if seen by a giant who could hold it between the hands, and the vegetation rises out of scale. Depending on the viewing angle, the “mountain” shifts in profile like a relief seen from above, turning the vase into a small mineral landscape that changes with the gaze.
